In today’s world, there are many different avenues that lead to financial success. There are more and more people searching everyday for the avenue that is right for them. Many of these people will start a computer home based business. A big misconception that most people have is that once they find the way that they will take, the hard part is over. In all actuality, this is when the work begins. This is when you find out if you have what it takes to be a true entrepreneur.

Just because people understand the need for “education”, many of them don’t realize that there is more than one type. They are all important, and they all have their place in life. There are actually three types of education that exist in the world today, and they are academic, professional, and financial.

The first type is academic. Academic education is the education that you get in elementary school. This lays the foundation for your life. This type of education includes your reading, writing, math, and science. The homework that you had in grade school was essential to expanding your academic education.

The second type of education is professional. Professional education is the education that you need if you want to become a doctor, lawyer or even a licensed mechanic for that matter. These careers require an education that is not taught in grade school. They focus specifically on the profession that you are pursuing. Although this type of education is important, it is not the most important when it comes to being successful.

The final type of education is financial education. For you to be wildly successful in life, you must develop a strong financial education. Every successful person that you hear about understands this concept, and they never stop learning. This type of education is crucial if you want to become rich and successful. Just ask Steve Jobs (Apple), Bill Gates (Microsoft), and Henry Ford (Ford Motor Company). None of these people graduated college, yet went on to become some of the most successful people in the world.

So just because you have the education that leads you to your path to financial success, doesn’t mean that you can stop learning. If you are starting a computer home based business, you will need to develop a strong financial education, and make a commitment to never stop learning, because that is where the fortunes are made.

We’ve all heard the old saying, “behind every good man is a good woman”. The saying can also be, “behind every successful man is a good mentor”, because you really can’t underestimate the importance of having a good mentor. If you were to interview 10 successful people, you’d probably find that the one thing most of them have in common is that they had a mentor. A mentor can best be described as someone that you can confide in as well as someone that can teach you a lot when the going gets tough. They are usually a type of coach or an individual that has more experience than you and have reached the point in life where you hope to be someday. There are some things in life that only experience can teach us, which is another benefit of having a mentor explain these things. Even if you don’t always use your mentor on a daily basis, there’s a certain peace of mind in knowing they are there in case we need them.

For the most part, these people have very motivational people, and many of them as little kids wanted to become a life coach. To some people, they are referred to as a dream mentor. The reason for this is simple. Sometimes when you get down, your dream of the future is the only thing that can pull you back up to where you need to be. That is the job of the coach.

When you’re feeling low, and we all experience this at some time, your mentor will encourage you to “tough it out” and give you courage. Anyone can do that but a mentor has been where you’ve been and may have experienced the same things you’re going through. They have the ability, as few other people do, of reassuring you that this is just a temporary phase and you will get through this. They speak with this confidence because they’ve been there.

Sometimes we make mistakes and really had no way of knowing they were going to be mistakes. A mentor can help you prevent these mistakes because, again, they’ve been through the same experiences. We learn in life either from our own mistakes or from the mistakes of others. Experience truly is the best teacher so listen to your mentor because they’ve either made the mistake you’re about to make or have been around someone that has.

Everyone has weaknesses of some kind. We may not realize it. You may have all feel we have all the confidence we need, but we still have weaknesses of some kind. Often it’s these weaknesses that are holding us back in life or in the business world. Your mentor will recognize these weaknesses, point them out to you and try to help you get rid of them. You may not like hearing some of things your mentor has to say, but it’s not their job to get you to like them or even to be your best friend. It’s their job to be your mentor and help you. The difference between a mentor and a friend is a friend will see you for who you are whereas a mentor will see you for who you can be.

Although you mentor will acknowledge your weaknesses, he’ll also help you bring out your strengths. A good mentor sees you weaknesses and strengths and is always honest with you. He will never tell you what you want to hear. He’ll try to get you to remove your weaknesses and bring out and enhance your strengths. These very qualities that a mentor possesses are often the very thing you need to help you reach your full potential, and build a successful computer home based business.

Email marketing is a great way to build a highly successful, long term business on the internet. However, there are a few email marketing best practices that you need to follow in order to make sure you are doing it the “right” way.

Best practice number 1 – Make sure you have permission to mail

Out of all the email marketing best practices, this one is by far the most important. You need to always make sure you have permission to send the emails to your prospects. This can be accomplished by a simple opt in page. When people go to that page, they see your offer and make the decision whether or not they want to give you their name and email address. Once they do, you now have permission to send them emails until they choose to “opt-out”.

Best practice number 2 – Stay relevant

Just because people opt in to your email list does not mean you can send them anything you want. It needs to be relevant. For example, I run a highly successful “internet marketing” business, and the people that opt into my list are people that are interested learning how to make money online. So that’s what type of emails I send them. They did not opt in for information on how to train wild monkeys, so I don’t send them offers on this type of “off the wall” stuff. I always keep it relative.

Best practice number 3 – Don’t neglect your list

If you give away a free video training to everyone that opts in to your list, be sure to follow up with them and stay in constant contact. This is how you will turn your list into money. People buy things from people they know, like, and trust. The best way to get people to know like and trust you is to send them regular emails that actually add value to their life. This is the best way to ensure that the people on your list don’t forget about you. As an example, I try and send an email to my list once a day.

Best practice number 4 – Your list is not an ATM

When you begin to build a list, you will soon discover how easy it is to type up an email, recommending a product or service and make some quick money from the people that buy. This will make you tempted to send out offers more frequently so you can make even more money. DON’T DO IT. You should not treat your list like an ATM machine. You should treat them like the people that they are, and send them stuff that adds value to their life. Let them know that you actually care about them and are here to help. This will serve you well in the long run, and make your list 100x more profitable.

If you want a true review on specific email marketing products make sure to go to the source. Although the original product creator will use a lot of sales copy that sounds like “hype”, this is where you will get the best reviews in most cases.

The reason is simple… Successful internet marketing businesses are built around reputation, and in most cases the product creators will not just tell you an outright lie.

On the other hand, affiliates will. It’s ok to purchase from an affiliate, but keep in mind that many times, affiliates write up these good fake reviews just so they can make more sales. In most cases, the affiliates have never even seen the product for them selves. This is not always the case, but just keep it in mind.

So what about finding email marketing products to promote?

The same basic rules apply here… Before you make a recommendation of a product, you want to make sure that it is a product that contains valuable information that will help the potential buyer move forward in business. My personal rule is that I don’t recommend products that I don’t personally use. By doing this, I develop trust with my readers, and make more money in the long run.

Choose a domain name that makes sense and is relevant to your market. You can get this at places like godaddy (dot) com or namecheap (dot) com. Expect to spend around $7 per year for this.

Next get a hosting account with someone like Bluehost (dot) com or hostgator (dot) com. This will give you the ability to have a website that you control. Should cost no more then $8 per month.

The next tool you need is an autoresponder service. These range from $18 per month – $50 per month. My personal recommendation to start with is aweber. This is another tool that you MUST have to build a big business.

Then you create a squeeze page. This is a page that is designed to capture peoples name and email address when they visit your site. (voluntarily of course) This is how you are going to build your list of targeted prospects.

The next step is to drive traffic to your squeeze page and get people added to your list.

When people are on your list, the only thing left to do is to send them offers via email that are related to their interest. When they purchase the products, you will earn a commission.

There you go… It’s that simple.

Obviously there are many details that you will need to learn along the way, but in a nutshell this is it. This is exactly how to start a web based business. In fact, multi million dollar businesses are built in this same fashion.

Has procrastination ever got in your way? Have you ever had the idea to do something, but never completed it, because you just kept putting it off, and putting it off until one day, you didn’t have the urge to do it anymore? I am about to share with you a way to totally eliminate procrastination from your life. If you truly let this soak in, you will never have to worry about not getting something done due to procrastination.

I will start with a story. Jenny and Suzy are neighbors, and they decide to go that its time to start losing some weight. They each make a commitment to start going to the gym every morning before work, so before they go to bed, they each set there alarm clocks for 5:00am. The next morning at 5am Suzy’s alarm goes off. She says “I don’t want to go”, “It’s cold outside” I wish I could sleep for just 10 more minutes” Suzy reaches up and hits the snooze button. Next door, Jenny’s alarm goes off. She says “I don’t want to go”, “It’s cold outside” I wish I could sleep for just 10 more minutes”. Fifteen minutes later, Suzy is still in bed, and Jenny is at the gym.

What’s the difference?

Suzy focused on the process, and Jenny focused on the result. This is a common truth that successful people have. They focus on the result, and not the process. You see, most people are like Suzy, and they focus on the process. Most of the time, the process is never a fun thing to do, so most big ideas never get done. If you want to eliminate procrastination from your life you must start focusing on the result rather than the process.

It’s easy to sit on the couch and watch TV for an extra hour. It’s easy to take a nap on your lunch break. It’s easy to hit snooze in the morning. If you start focusing on the result, you will soon start to see many more dreams in your life become reality. I wont tell you that this is the easy way, because its not, but here is something that helped me along my path. Rich and successful people make a habit of doing something they do not like every single day.

If you do something for 29 straight days, it becomes a habit. Commit yourself to 30 days of doing something you don’t want to do that will move you forward in your life and/or business. Make the commitment to end procrastination once and for all. If you do this, I trust that you will be well on your way to success, with procrastination under your feet.

Product creators are willing to do this because even if they are only getting 25% of the sale, that’s 25% that they would not have made otherwise. Plus they just got a new customer.

So what is the RIGHT way?

Well, there is a little more to it then this, but to put it in it’s simplest form, you must have two things in place to make extra money at home.

1. A product or service to sell

2. Someone interested in buying it

Completely logical right?

Where most people mess up, is they focus on making sells, instead of focusing on building a list of targeted people. In this case, I mean an email list.

Think about it…

If you spent the next few months building an email list of 10,000 people that were ALL interested in learning how to train their dogs, how hard would it be for you to find a top notch dog training manual, send out a few emails, and get people to buy it?

Not hard at all.

Now what if you could earn a commission when anyone purchased that book?

Blogging for profit has become increasingly popular over the last few years, and everyone (including corporate giants) seems to be jumping on the band wagon. The reason so many people are adapting to this change is because blogging can be very profitable when done effectively. In this article, I will show you a few simple ways to make money with your blog.

The first and most important way to profit from your blog is to build your email list. You can put up multiple opt in forms to persuade readers to give you their name and email address in exchange for a free gift. This gift can be something as simple as a downloadable pdf report that is relative to your blog. Once people are on your email list, you have permission to send them relative offers via email. These can be your own offers, or affiliate offers where you earn a commission for every sale that you make.

The second method of making money with your blog is to create a page dedicated to product recommendations. This page could be titled “recommended resources” or something similar. When readers click through to this page, they will see a list of related products that you recommend for their future success. You could even put a picture of the product and a brief description of what it does and why you recommend it. The more reasons you give them to buy, more likely they are going to buy. The key to this page is to only list products that you honestly recommend. When people click on these links to go to the purchase page, they are actually clicking on your affiliate link, and you will earn a commission when they purchase the recommended product.

Another way to make money from your blog is to do “product reviews”. These are just posts where you review a product in depth, and provide your honest feedback. If it gets a good review, then you can provide your affiliate link inside the post, and earn a commission when someone buys. The more detailed review you provide, the better your chances of making sales. Always be honest with your reviews, and if a product does not get your approval, be sure and mention that. The following line will give you the permission to still include your affiliate link when you don’t recommend a product. “Even though I don’t personally recommend this product, you can view the sales page here and make your own decisions.”

Another way to make good money with your blog is to offer personal consulting. This is one of the easiest ways to make a large amount of money from your blog. To do this, just create a new page called “personal coaching”, or “work with me” or “consulting”. When people click through to that page, they will see your offer. You could make this all text, or you could put up a video explaining why they need your personal consulting, and what all they will get when they work with you. I would recommend charging by the hour, and offer your time in 1, 3, and 5 hour blocks. You can create a free “buy it now” button inside your PayPal account to accept payments. If you are just starting out, and are not sure what to charge, $99/hour is a good guideline. If you are putting out quality content on your blog, then you will be surprised how many people will sign up for your coaching.
