4 Keys to a Successful Recommended Resource Page – Blogging For Profit

By Justin Glover

If you are like many of the aspiring entrepreneurs out there with a dream to make money online, then you more then likely have a blog. Blogs are a growing trend and continue to become more and more popular each day. The reason for this trend spike is because they are super easy to put together and serve as a great medium to share your thoughts about life. Even more so than that however is the fact that they can be quite simple to monetize and make money from.

One of the easiest ways to make money from a blog is to have a “recommended resources” page where you sell products and services. They can be your own products, or if you are an affiliate for them. Although it sounds easy, there are a few things that you should take into consideration when putting together this page. In the rest of this article I will uncover 4 tips that will make certain you have a wildly successful recommended resources page.

One thing you always want to do is put a picture of the product or service that you are recommending. Most of the products online have some sort of digital graphic that you can use when you are referring to it. This works especially well with complete courses because it gives the reader the sense that they are purchasing a “tangible good” that they can hold in their hand. Even if this is not the case, a graphic will increase the perceived value of the product of service.

Not only do you want to use a graphic when promoting products, but you want to give a detailed description of what it is that you are recommending. The more information you can give someone about the product, the better their chance of buying. This is especially important if you are promoting an affiliate product and the buyer does not know the creator. They are on your blog, so chances are, they know like and trust you, so if you do a good job explaining what they will get, there will be less resistance when they actually get to the sales page.

Another important element of creating a successful “recommended” page is to always give your honest opinion. If you are recommending a course and you honestly feel like it is lacking in a certain area, then be sure and relay that message to your visitor. Doing this will instill trust in your reader and you will gain their long term respect. This usually results in an increased long term value of your customers.

Finally, when you are linking to affiliate products you will need to mask your affiliate link. This is not to “deceive” or “trick” the buyer. It is simply to make it have a more professional appearance, and raise the level of trust. Some people do not click on long ugly links because they are not sure that they are trustworthy. The last thing you want is a visitor who is ready to buy, but afraid to click on your link because it has a bunch of jumbled numbers in it.

Making money online is really simple if you just have the right strategies to follow; unfortunately many people never experience the success they desire because they don’t have a guide to show them the way.
